| Precaution |
Prohibited to use on animals having urinating issues. Use with caution on subjects having electrolyte disorders or liver damage.
Hypokalemia, Hypocalcemia, Hypomagnesemia and dehydration can occur if long-term used and/or in large doses. In this case, potassium or potassium diuretic drug can be supplemented or combined or alternatively used, with a routine monitoring of the water and electrolyte balance.
Combination with amino glycoside antibiotics and corticosteroids should be avoided. |

Indication
Furosemide Injection is an effective diuretic-saluretic for use in the treatment of acute noninflammatory tissue edema in dogs and horses, and for use in the treatment of edema (pulmonary congestion, ascites) associated with cardiac insufficiency in the dog. In cases of edema involving cardiac insufficiency, the continued use of heart stimulants such as digitalis or its glycosides is indicated.

Furosemide Injection 5% is a chemically distinct diuretic and saluretic pharmacodynamically characterized by the following
1) A high degree of efficacy, low-inherent toxicity and a high therapeutic index.
2) A rapid onset of action of comparatively short duration.1,2
3) A pharmacological action in the functional area of the nephron, i.e., proximal and distal tubules and the ascending limb of the loop of Henle.2,3,4
4) A dose-response relationship and a ratio of minimum to maximum effective dose range greater than tenfold.1,2
The intravenous route produces the most rapid diuretic response.
